We like to be paid. For that reason we require that all orders be pre-paid. We have had some bad experience when we have extended credit in the past. For example: We have shipped to some bookstores and then been told that, “It is very difficult to pay you small publishers.” That’s funny— it was easy to order from us, receive the shipment, sell it to the customer and take the customer’s credit card, but it was difficult to then pay the bill for the book. We have shipped to some wholesalers who have then adjusted our bills, not paid for shipping, and taken a larger discount that we gave them. We have given some bookstores “credit” and sent them an invoice with a small shipment only to next hear from a bankruptcy court— you guessed it, we were one of many unsecured creditors. That’s right, the lawyers handling the bankruptcy were well paid, but the vendors that supplied the sold inventory were left out in the cold. So, we are sorry, but it is just easier to require that everyone pay up front. You can either use PayPal or send us a check. We find that this just works better for everyone. Just think, we are not an unsecured creditor in case you go into bankruptcy and that makes us feel better.
In the Hall of Shame we have listed the bookstores that have not paid old and outstanding invoices.
Our Privacy Policy
Customer privacy and security have never been more important, and we want you to know what our Privacy Policy is.
We do NOT maintain a list of customers that we send automated e-mail to. You will not be receiving any e-mail from us unless it is about a problem with your order. We hope that you enjoy the book(s) that you have ordered. If there is any problem, feel free to contact us, and we will try to promptly answer your inquiry and resolve the problem.
We keep only enough information about your purchase for us to maintain the necessary records for sales, inventory control, and receipts of payments. All of that information is necessary for us to prepare financial information and taxes.
There is no database containing information that we have about you that can be sold to or given to any other party.
Please do not add our e-mail address to any database that you maintain and use to send out unsolicited e-mails. We are sorry, but we do not really want all of that— we get too much as it is. Just as we try to respect your privacy, please respect ours. Many thanks.
